It’s being called “The Great Metal Circus.” With openers Oxymorons and Conquer Divide providing the introductory mayhem, Sweden’s Avatar—playing selections from its Dance Devil Dance album—should shock and stun the Starland Ballroom patrons in Sayreville on May 12. Vocalist Johannes Eckerstrom, guitarists Jonas Jarlsby/Tim Ohrstrom, bassist Henrik Sandelin and drummer John Alfredsson provide theatrics as well as bombast.
