Staind has released its new single, “Lowest In Me,” from the band’s first new album in 12 Years, Confessions Of The Fallen (Alchemy Recordings/BMG), due in September. The Massachusetts band was formed in 1995. Its seven albums have sold over 15 million copies. They stopped dead in 2014, reforming in 2019. (Godsmack and Staind will also perform July 29 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel.)
Fellow New Englanders Godsmack’s new album is Lighting Up The Sky. Singer/Guitarist Sully Erna, lead guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill and drummer Shannon Larkin are a well-oiled machine. They also formed in 1995, have 10 albums (three of which went #1), one EP and four DVDs, enjoying 25 Top 10 singles.
