The Madison Community Arts Center at 10 Kings Road will celebrate the centennial of the birth of one of America’s greatest singers in any genre, the inimitable Sarah Vaughan, born in Newark in March of 1924. Powerhouse vocalist Lucy Wijnands will do the honors, backed by pianist Bram Wijnands, at a rare 3:00 p.m. start time. The Sally Shupe Quintet—guitarist Sally Shupe, tenor saxophonist Abhik Mojumdar, pianist Thomas Dinh, bassist Jeff Andolaro, drummer Beckett Diehl—will open the show.
