Pianist Luis Perdomo earned his Masters Degree at Queens College. “Studying with Sir Roland Hanna,” he says, “I began to look at jazz and classical in a new and more in-depth way and my playing evolved accordingly.” A longtime sideman in the bands of Ray Barretto, Ravi Coltrane and Miguel Zenon, his stunning series of solo albums—including Universal Mind with drummer Jack DeJohnette—elevated him into a force unto himself.
