Billed as “Growin’ Up: An Evening of Two One-Act Musical Memoirs,” Outpost In The Burbs, in Montclair, on February 23, will host Matt Butler and Mike Montali. Butler’s been taking his act to prisons of late, performing at Riker’s Island and San Quentin, just two of 150 jails he’s visited. His “collection of music, monologues, personal history, and lessons learned from those behind bars,” is his calling-card, as he says, adding, “I didn’t write the show for the incarcerated, but for those who haven’t had the privilege of meeting these people and hearing their stories for themselves.”
