Backyard Superheroes, The Schwamm, Eye Defy and Beat Brigade will bring on the ska in Garwood at Cross Roads on North Avenue. Ska riddims get under your skin like reggae. Originating in 1950s Jamaica, it combines elements of Caribbean Mento music (a 1940s folkloric African strain) and calypso, sprinkled with American R’n’B. It’s positively entrancing.
