Singer-Songwriter Dave Pirner, guitarist Jeremy Tapparo, drummer Michael Bland, keyboardist Ivan Neville, The String Genius Quartet and the Robert Robinson Gospel Singers were on Soul Asylum’s original 1993 “MTV Unplugged.” On April 16, at The Vogel in Red Bank, Pirner, Ryan Smith and Tappero will combine for a “special run of intimate acoustic shows. Stripping the songs down even further, the trio blends fan favorites with stories from across the band’s long history,” according to their camp.
