New York pianist Larry Fuller will lead his trio with bassist JJ Shakur and drummer George Fludas Oct. 27 at Hillman Performance Hall in Princeton. They swing hard. Real hard. Raised in Ohio, Fuller has been a pro since 11. He tickled the ivories behind Seattle vocalist Ernestine Anderson from β88 to β93. After working with drummer Jeff Hamilton for six years, he joined the trio of the legendary Ray Brown in 2000 after the late bassist left Dizzy Gillespie and Oscar Peterson. Fuller was Brownβs last piano man. From β05 to β13, he was part of John Pizzarelliβs quartet before going solo. Heβs the real deal.
