Oh man, what a double bill! This has the potential to be THE concert of the year. Trombone Short & Orleans Avenue rocks, stomps, struts, sizzles and fries the air with static electricity to the point where you’ll want to stand up, run down the aisle and bumrush the stage in a wild fit of abandon. (But don’t as they may not like that.) And to see the legendary Mavis Staples with that profound growly basso-profundo voice of hers, still at the peak of its powers at age 87, will thrill your soul into submission. Together? You’ll think you died and went to heaven.
