Meet… Joseph Luca

Joseph Luca—from Ho-Ho-Kus in Bergen County—is a rather unique artist. His music is vulnerable, sensual and seeks to find the freedom inherent in loving whoever the hell you want despite pressures from a repressive society. Genre? Call it alternative soul-pop. Is he the new George Michael?

His EP, PART 1: Ouroboros (Life), is due November 11 on the ONErpm label. It’s the first of a trilogy. Something of a pansexual manifesto, it represents a manifestation of his “truest self through a metaphorical shedding/cycle of life, death and rebirth.” The music is intended to comfort likeminded souls and to “encourage the idea that to transcend these boundaries reveals the universal nature of love itself. We are all simply here to have a human experience.”  The EP features his compositions, his production and his angelic voice, buoyed by the mixing/mastering of Steve Dresser (Gwen Stefani, Fergie).
