Meet… Studio D’Lux

Studio D'Lux

Studio D’Lux is led by keyboardist-vocalist Doug Kistner (Trans-Siberian Orchestra/Blood Sweat & Tears/John Waite) from Verona in Essex County. His band is super! We’re talkin’ drummer Liberty Devitto (Billy Joel), guitarist Jon Herington (Steely Dan), New Brunswick singer Glen Burtnik (Styx), Asbury Park singer Reagan Richards (Williams Honor), bassist Malcolm Gold (Sheryl Crow) and saxophonist Tom Timko (Gloria Estefan).

The new single—“Silence Is Louder”—is out now. Kistner explains:  “part of its lyrical message is that you can say a lot by not saying anything at all. I recorded the keyboard parts and a guitar part with a drum loop and sang a rough vocal at the Burn Room in Oak Ridge New Jersey. Then we stripped away the loop and had Liberty lay down a great drum track. Those sessions were so much fun. Jon records his guitar parts at his studio and plays exactly what you hope to hear and then some. Mixing and editing parts with such talented engineers as Marc Battaglia and John Arbuckle was a blast!”
