Meet… Surfing For Daisy

Surfing For Daisy

Asbury Park sextet Surfing For Daisy will be hitting the road in support of its brand new Hyper Focus album, the follow-up to its promising self-titled debut. Vocalist-Guitarist Nick Francis, lead guitarist Mike Bernabei, drummer Steven Filippone, bassist Cam Seidel, rhythm guitarist Dan DiSantis and keyboardist Katie McCarty describe themselves as alt-folkrock. The new single is “Hot Blood.”

Speaking about the single, the singer says, “it’s an upbeat feel-good rock jam that just makes you want to dance. It has this persistent intensity crafted to make people loosen up, move around and get lost in the music rather than the heaviness of the lyrics. It’s a nod back to our bluesy, raw rock roots.”

The singles off their debut—“Flannel” and “Acrobat”—were very well-received. The band’s name comes from the fact that when they were kids, both the singer and the lead guitarist had dogs Daisy. Plus, the singer’s a surfer. Thus, Surfing For Daisy. Why not?
