6 New Songs

Dan Lorenzo
“Silver Lined Cyanide Serenity”

Paramus Metal Hero Dan Lorenzo reached out to say, “I wrote the fastest riff I had ever written since my days in Hades but, according to drummer Johnny Kelly, it didn’t fit our band, Patriarchs In Black (whose sixth album will come out January 8, 2027, on MetalVille Records). So I got drummer Ron Lipnicki from Overkill who recorded his tracks in one amazing take! Kelly Abe from Resection co-wrote and sang; Scott Lapage added a ripping solo; Mark Gambuzza from Parrot Head Killer did backing vocals.”

Surfing For Daisy
“Methamphetamine”

We invited you to “Meet…” Asbury Park sextet Surfing For Daisy a few months ago. Their new single is, in a word, terrific.

Sensational Soul Cruisers
“No Age In Love”

Last year, we spotlighted the debut single—after 31 years—of The Sensational Soul Cruisers from Freehold (Monmouth County). It didn’t take ’em long to follow it up with “Sensual Lovin’”. Now comes “No Age In Love.” May they go on forever.

The Weeklings
“Rainy Day Women #12 & #35”

Jem Records President Marty Scott has been telling us about the new Jem Records Celebrates Bob Dylan, due Friday. It’s the seventh in their series of songwriter celebrations and if this early entry from The Weeklings out of Asbury Park is any indication, it’s gonna be a doozy. The first six—for John Lennon, Brian Wilson, Pete Townshend, Ray Davies, Jagger/Richards and Bowie—were all terrific.

The Cynz
“Neighborhood Bully”

We couldn’t resist adding just one more Dylan celebration from the upcoming various-artists Dylan tribute on Jem Records out of South Plainfield (Middlesex County). This one, by The Cynz from East Brunswick, is a deep dive, coming from Dylan’s 1983 Infidels album.

NFJ Izzy
“W.Y.F.L. (Izzymix)”

Camden rapper NFJ Izzy has covered “WYFL” by DJ Mac. It’s not the first Jersey-centric cover of this 2025 Bronx anthem. Benny Bates of Franklin (Sussex County) added his own spin earlier this year. But NFJ Izzy’s take is totally in-your-face, startling and immediate in its delivery and flow.
