Bike Routes Follow Up ‘Rush Of Energy’ with ‘Prairie’

Bike Routes

We first told you about David Osterhout in the summer of ’24 when Blue Grape Music signed him as Bike Routes to release Rush Of Energy. Now comes Prairie with its “Delicate” video and he’ll be taking his act on the road starting this weekend in Philly. Listen to the “Delicate” sax. It’s E Street sax man Jake Clemons. The Burlington County singer-songwriter-producer-multi instrumentalist says that Prairie was “10 years in the making, about fighting for yourself, for your dreams and for everything you’ve ever lost.”

His music has been described as indie, alt-rock, emo, post-punk and hard pop.  For Prairie, he says, “we had two years of careful and precise planning. These 11 songs are the perfect encapsulation what Bike Routes was meant to be from the beginning. Even back when I was playing coffee shops 10 years ago, this record is what I’ve been building towards. New Jersey is big for me. As a kid, I listened to a lot of Bruce and My Chemical Romance before my mom introduced me to ABBA. I’m a huge hip-hop fan, but I love hardcore, grind and death metal. My music pulls me from all directions. I want my voice and lyrics to fit over anything.”
