Dylan To Perform In Newark

Bob Dylan at NJ PAC

Bob Dylan’s “Rough and Rowdy Ways” tour will have the 82-year old legend performing at NJ PAC downtown Newark November 20 and 21. If the set list for Chicago last month is any indication, expect plenty of surprises. Leading his sextet into unknown territory, he continues to confound fans by deliciously altering favorites to the point of inscrutability.  He’s even preferring to play piano this time around. From rockabilly and blues to folk and almost-country, Dylan does what he damn well pleases.  Bassist Tony Garnier, guitarists Bob Britt/Doug Lancio, drummer Jerry Pentecost and pedal steel guitarist Donnie Herron are  a tight unit in the 110-minute set. Expect “Gotta Serve Somebody,”  “Most Likely You Go Your way and I’ll Go Mine,” “When I Paint My Masterpiece” and “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight,” but, then again, you never know  with him.
