Bruce Springsteen has been nominated for a Grammy Award for the 51st time. (He’s won 20.) His album Only The Strong Survive will compete as “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album” against Sondheim Unplugged (The NYC Sessions) by Various Artists, Holidays Around The World by Pentatonix, Bewitched by Lauley, Pieces Of Treasure by Rickie Lee Jones and To Steve With Love: Liz Calloway Celebrates Sondheim.

His first Grammy came in 1984 for “Best Rock Vocal Performance” (“Dancing In The Dark”). In 1994, he first performed on the telecast with Bonnie Raitt, Steve Winwood and BB King. In 2013, the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) honored him as MusicCares Person Of The Year with Mumford & Sons, John Legend, Kenny Chesney, Patti Smith, Jackson Browne and Mavis Staples interpreting his compositions.  The event raised $6.7 million for MusicCares.
