Written and Directed by Scott Cooper from last year’s book—Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making Of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska—by Warren Zanes, principal shooting for the much-anticipated 2025 Bruce bio-pic started last month in New York and three sites in The Garden State:  Bayonne, Rockaway (Morris County) and next month from the ninth to the 13th in Asbury Park. (Grant Wilfley Casting has already put out a call on social media for shore locals to portray 1980s extras.)

Cooper is mostly known for directing Crazy Heart (2009), Black Mass (2015), Hostiles (2017) and Antlers (2021). The multi-award-winning White is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood after his decade-long run as Lip in Shameless, Carmy in The Bear and Kerry Von Erich in The Iron Claw. Jeremy Strong, who starred in Succession for five seasons as Kendall Roy, will portray Jon Landau.  Stephen Graham—who played Al Capone in Boardwalk Empire for five seasons—will play Bruce’s difficult dad, Douglas. Gaby Hoffmann—from Field Of Dreams and Crystal Fairy & The Magical Cactus (where she tripped on mescalin for her role) plays his mom, Adele. Johnny Cannizzaro, from the Jersey Boys movie, plays Stevie Van Zandt.
