Jessie Wagner, of Little Steven & The Disciples Of Soul, Releases New Single, ‘Are You Scared’

Jessie Wagner by Angela Davis

Jessie Wagner asks that musical question, “Are You Scared” in her new single featuring Scott Martin. The back-up Disciple of Soul singer has also sung on stages with Lenny Kravitz, Chic and Duran Duran besides fronting her own Army of the Underdog.

Her Shoes Droppin’ solo debut on Wicked Cool Records came out in 2020 wherein she traverses bluesy R’n’B, neo-soul, acoustic balladry with pop-rock smarts, even straying into sensitive singer-songwriter ‘70s territory. A Virginian who now resides in Manhattan, the debut was produced by drummer Dave Diamond (Bob Weir/Derek Trucks) on songs she wrote with guitarist Sherrod Barnes (Queen Latifah/Beyonce). Expect the follow-up next year.
