Maplewood Will Turn Into Maplewoodstock July 8 & 9

The 18th annual FREE Maplewoodstock Music & Art Festival takes place this year July 8 and 9 in Memorial Park, across the street from the Maplewood train station, with 20 bands, 50 art venders, a beer garden and a kid zone.

Mihali is the co-headliner, born in Maplewood and now based in Vermont, he’s a singer/songwriter/guitarist and founder of the band Twiddle.  Steeped in reggae, his 2020 Breathe And Let Go debut featured collaborations with Citizen Cope, Matisyahu plus G Love & Special Sauce. Last year, he followed it up with Effection (Ineffable Records), a multi-culti reggae extravaganza that even delved into bluegrass.

Louis Cato is the other headliner. The multi-talented Portuguese singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer/percussionist also plays brass and is the bandleader for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He works in various genres as exhibited by the eclectic list of artists with whom he’s collaborated with--Bobby McFerrin, Jon Batiste, A Tribe Called Quest and Snarky Puppy.
