May 17 Means Porchfest in Montclair

Montclair Porchfest

It’s free, walkable and radical. Imagine a music festival where artists perform on people’s front porches at house after house. The concept of the front porch as musical stage will transpire in Montclair, Essex County, May 17. “It’s a way for musicians to showcase their talents and for neighbors to come together and celebrate their community,” say the organizers. Music lovers can “ride bikes and scooters or push strollers on sidewalks” as music blares from lawns and porches. Local food vendors are ready to serve. The artists do not get paid and will sell their merch at each stop. Certain streets will be closed off to vehicular traffic. There is no rain date. For further information, visit Map / Schedule.
