Ninth Annual Asbury Park Porchfest Set For September 27

Porchfest

The ninth annual Asbury Park Porchfest will happen September 27 on porches all over town. Since inception, 600 bands have performed in the streets, in parks, and on people’s front porches, lawns and driveways. Over $50,000 has been raised for local charities and this year the deserving recipients are Mercy Center, a food bank that serves 3,500+ families every month, and Trinity Church, providing shelter when temps dip below freezing. Trinity calls it its “Code Blue” program. As such, it’s the only “drop-in shelter” in Monmouth County. In 2024, it warmed 345 people over 65 nights.

So what will one hear as one walks from house to house? Event producers promise alternative, acoustic, ambient, Americana, bluegrass, blues, classic rock, classical, country, folk, funk, grunge, hip-hop, indie, jazz, pop, punk, R’n’B, reggae, rock’n’roll, rockabilly, ska, soul and worldbeat.
