Paul Simon Tribute Concert Scheduled for December 21

One of America’s greatest living songwriters—Newark-born Paul Simon—will be the subject of an all-star two-hour tribute concert on December 21 at 9:00 p.m on CBS.

“Homeward Bound: A Grammy Salute to the Songs of Paul Simon” will feature Garth Brooks, Sting, Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles, Stevie Wonder, Trisha Yearwood, Eric Church, Rhiannon Giddens, The Jonas Brothers, Angelique Kidjo, Ledisi, Little Big Town, Dave Matthews, Brad Paisley, Billy Porter, Take 6, Irma Thomas, Trombone Shorty, Shaggy, Sofia Carson, Herbie Hancock, Woody Harrelson, Dustin Hoffman, Elton John, Folake Olowofoyeku, Oprah Winfrey and Jimmy Cliff.  Simon, although retired from touring, recently made a surprise appearance at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival.

MIKE GREENBLATT has been writing for Goldmine magazine and New Jersey's Aquarian Weekly for more than 35 years. His writing subjects fill the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He's interviewed Joe Cocker, Graham Nash, David Crosby, Carlos Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Johnny Cash, and members of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. He was 18 when he attended Woodstock in 1969.

In addition to writing about music, Greenblatt has worked on publicity campaigns for The Animals, Pat Benatar, Johnny Winter, Tommy James and Richard Branson, among others. He is currently the editor of The Jersey Sound.
