Point Pleasant Girl, Lolitslea, Knows ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’

With a new single (“Exit Plan”) and a debut album, Nothing Lasts Forever, Lolitslea, raised in Ocean County’s Point Pleasant, knows a little bit more about life than just the beach. She can fascinate within minutes. “`Exit Plan,’” she says, “runs circles around the themes of liminal spaces, the backrooms, and realizing life will never be what it was back in 2008, when my biggest regret was selling my Nintendo DS to a local pawn shop.” Her sound brushes the rough edges off hardcore for a poppy kind of speed-zip punk buoyed by the chugging chunky rhythmic thrust of Tom Denney’s non-stop guitar (who co-wrote/co-produced the single, and used to be in a band called A Day To Remember.).

She had an acapella group in college, went through a distinct emo phase, and is now putting the finishing touches on her debut full-length, after which she intends to write write write. First, though, is a mini-tour that will take her to Philly, Asbury Park (October 10 at The Bond Street Bar), Baltimore, North Carolina, Orlando, Atlanta and Tennessee.
