Rachel Ana Dobken Busts Out Of Asbury Park With New Single
Singer-Songwriter-Drummer-Guitarist-Pianist-Producer Rachel Ana Dobken, from Asbury Park, is having “Just A Dream,” the second single off her forthcoming Acceptance album, co-produced with Paul Ritchie of The Parlor Mob and Erik Romero of The Front Bottoms. Recorded at New Future in Belmar, bassist Dan Hasse, guitarist Erik Rudic and keyboardist Mark Masefield flesh out the sound. Dobken sings lead and background vocals, plays drums, rhythm guitar and lead guitar on “Just A Dream”
“I like to think of this one as Nostalgia Rock because it conveys a feeling of deep longing for something that has passed,” Dobken says. “Something you’ve lived before and want to feel again, so you reminisce—deja-vu, a satisfying sigh. It’s how you want to remember the relationship. Those emotions are what went into writing this song. But the denial you experience while holding on only lasts so long. Eventually, you have to wake up. That’s what this song is exploring.”
