Rudolph Isley Dies at 84

The Isley Brothers are one of New Jersey’s great treasures.  They even named their own record label T-Neck after the town (Teaneck) in Bergen County where they settled after coming here from Ohio.  Rudolph Isley—who died Wednesday at age 84—was an original founding member but quit the group in 1990 to become a Christian minister. He co-wrote such celebrated Isley hits as “Shout,” “It’s Your Thing,” “That Lady” and “Fight The Power.” “There are no words to express my feelings and the love I have for my brother. Our family will miss him. But I know he’s in a better place.”—Ronald Isley.
