Steve Conte and Brian Ray—known collectively as Earls Of Babylon—have released a gritty punk-infused piece of Instant Classic Rock called “Piece Of My Mind.” The flip side is a terrific remake of “Hungry,” the 1966 rocker by the severely under-rated Paul Revere & The Raiders. The new original “takes aim at chronic complainers and finger-pointers,” according to the duo, “a reminder to step back, gain perspective, and recognize that plenty of people have it tougher.”

Gritty New York City Guitarist-Singer-Songwriter Steve Conte roared out of Monmouth County as a kid with one thing on his mind: to rock and roll bigtime, and that he did with the New York Dolls and Finnish rocker Michael Monroe. His new album on Stevie Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool label isn’t due until next year but “Girl With No Name” has been released.

The new Steve Conte single, “Fourth Of July,” co-written by Andy Partridge of British rock band XTC, might be a little late for Independence Day but it sure rocks.
