Textbook Maneuver Drops ‘Murmur 3 Home’

Textbook Maneuver

They call electronica producer-composer-keyboardist Michael Keane of Florham Park in Morris County a synth savant. His own Life Science Records has released “Murmur 3 Home” as a single under his Textbook Maneuver alias. Critics have already called it “a spaced-out odyssey,” “an atmospheric journey” and “emotive sound frequencies…to entertain, energize and even hypnotize.” (His Adrenaline Slip was one of the most unique albums of last year.)

He's actually a classically-trained pianist with a punk-rock heart. His cerebral sound designs are dreamy, contemplative, mysterious and bathed in an otherworldly glow that permeates his mix to the point of incredulity. His camp says he’s influenced by the likes of Genesis, Rush and Gary Numan but to our ears, he’s an entity unto himself.

As he himself says, “`Murmur 3 Home’ closes out Adrenaline Slip, and is the coda to the unofficial ‘Space Trip’ suite. I composed it while trying to imagine the feeling of what it must be like to be home after an overextended scientific journey into orbit.  I feel it also works well for any conclusion of time away from loved ones due to work or tragedy.  There is an element of joy, followed by relief, then just an emotional release upon fully realizing the trip is over, and then it just fades.”
