Punk Rock History 101:  It’s over 50 years since bassist Andy Shernoff and guitarist Ross The Boss formed one of the most endearing and long-lasting punk bands of them all:  The Dictators. The pair are still there. A dozen musicians have passed through their ranks since. Blue Oyster Cult drummer Albert Bouchard joined three years ago. Keith Roth—from Monmouth County—joined two years ago, replacing Scott Kempner on vocals who had to leave after being diagnosed with early-stage dementia. Roth had previously played with David Johansen, Earl Slick, Cherie Currie and Cheetah Crome. He led his own band, Frankenstein 3000, and has been a DJ and producer on Sirius XM since 2003. The band is currently touring in Spain. Its new single is “Thank You And Have A Nice Day.” They will be performing down the shore at Asbury Lanes on October 29.
