The Momentum of Mark Mulch

Singer-Songwriter Mark Mulch, who left Toms River years ago for Nashville, is Radio Trop Rock’s “Artist Of The Month.” His new single is “Sunrise Vibes.” It was mastered by fellow Jersey native/Trop Rocker Alan “Jax” Bowers. The song is deliciously catchy, right in line with the myriad of like-minded artists who continue to flourish since the demise of Jimmy Buffett in keeping the Trop Rock spirit alive. In fact, much like the Americana musical movement which coalesced in 1999 with the advent of the Americana Music Association, the Trop Rock Music Association (“Where The Music Meets The Beach”) is achieving similar goals since 2012. It now has its own awards, is picking up more and more radio stations dedicated to their upbeat, joyous sound, and is dedicated “to building and promoting the Trop Rock genre and the individuals who participate in that industry…working closely with artists, radio stations, venues, festivals, retailers, media and others to help organize and build the infrastructure necessary for Trop Rock music to achieve success and recognition internationally,” according to its mission statement. Mulch duets with singer-songwriter Monallo on “Sunrise Vibes.” He’s a former environmental scientist who describes himself as a “beach bum” and “aspiring boat captain.” Both Mulch and Monallo will perform at “Meeting Of The Minds” at The Hangout in Gulf Shores Alabama in October. Mulch, as part of The Jersey Sound team, licensed music for the documentary.
