The ‘Parallel Lines’ Between The Pretty Babies and Blondie

Tammy Faye Starlite

On March 25, at Joe’s Pub in New York City, the original lineup of The Pretty Babies will reconvene, performing Blondie’s breakthrough 1978 third album, Parallel Lines, in its entirety. Fronted by Hoboken’s Tammy Faye Starlite, The Pretty Babies will meld punk and disco in what promises to be a glorious, glittering night like CBGB crossed with Studio 54.

Tammy Faye Starlite has been garnering raves of late with her dead-on renditions of Marianne Faithful and the Velvet Underground’s Nico. With her will be keyboardist Bibi Farber, bassist Monica Falcone, lead guitarist Heidi Lieb, drummer Linda Pitmon and rhythm guitarist Jill Richmond. They took their name from the Parallel Lines track “Pretty Baby” and you can bet they’ll do Buddy Holly’s “I’m Gonna Love You Too.”
