The Spins say ‘It’s Me’

The Spins

A hint as to the direction of the upcoming album by The Spins can be heard on “It’s Me,” the new single from this Warren County band. Complete with violence, blood and being buried alive, the band says, “This song is sort of a tongue-in-cheek take on the emotional impact a break- up sometimes has on the respective parties involved, with those experiences and feelings you had carried over into new ones for some time after.  It’s a sort of acknowledgement of the pain and impact it still has on you, while wondering and hoping that they feel the same thing.  It’s both a confession of what you still feel, and a hope that they still think of you in the same way and haven’t been able to just fully move on and forget about you. Fun Fact: that epic guitar solo at the end was a completely serendipitous event!  Our producer Ayad (Formerly in Passion Pit) was just noodling around over the final chorus, getting the shred out, and it sounded so awesome that we decided to keep it and HAD to have it end the song.” The Spins—vocalist-rhythm guitarist Nick Coombs, drummer Freddy Smith, lead guitarist Jimmy Barr and bassist Phil Dunphy—have been around for nine years.
