Allen Ginsberg and Paul McCartney
“A Ballad Of American Skeletons”

In the last few months of his life, legendary Newark beat poet Allen Ginsberg [1926-1997] had his poem “A Ballad Of American Skeletons,” recorded for posterity, produced by Lenny Kaye, with Philip Glass on keyboards, Paul McCartney on drums, guitar, Hammond B-3 and percussion, Kaye on bass and Marc Ribot/David Mansfield on guitars. Earlier, on October 16, 1995, although ailing, Ginsberg recited his poem with guitarist McCartney at the Royal Albert Hall.
