Beartooth—the hardcore punk band from Ohio—debuted in 2014 with Disgusting before Aggressive in 2016, Disease in 2018 and Below in 2021. They’ve gone gold and have reportedly been streamed a billion times. Vocalist Caleb Shomo, guitarists Zach Huston/Will Deely, bassist Oshie Bichar and drummer Connor Denis will share the stage with numerous other bands at radio station WDHA’s Rock The Rock Fest at the Pru in Newark. The new single is “Sunshine” and it is about, according to Shomo, “seasonal depression,” which the singer admits to having. “As I grow older, it gets more intense. It’s also about moving on from the dark place I was in during 2020-2021. At the end of the day, life should be enjoyed and a Beartooth song doesn’t always have to be miserable.”
