Boston’s Bermuda Search Party—guitarist Leon Son, bassist Claire Davis, trumpeter-keyboardist Maclin Tucker and trombonist Hoyt Parquet—seem to be creating their own genre. Son and Davis sing and write. They met as students at the Berklee College of Music. Their music is joyously upbeat with almost a carnivalesque air like New Orleans. They’ll be supporting Rhode Island singer-songwriter Will Evans here and then, on August 24, will be ending their tour with a blow-out bash in Hammonton, Atlantic County, at the Into The Pines Music Festival.
