With 11 albums in 32 years, including the new one Veritas due May 3, San Diego’s alt-metal P.O.D. (Payable On Death) will raise the roof in Sayreville at the Starland Ballroom with Bad Wolves, Norma Jean and Blind Channel opening. Singer Sonny Sandoval says of the band’s new single, “Lies We Tell Ourselves,” “everybody lies to themselves! They just don’t believe it,” to which guitarist Marcos Curiel adds, “as hate is to love, death is to life, lies is to Veritas or truth. This song resonates the struggle and hope which keeps us from truly believing that the `lies within ourselves’ become a reality. Our struggle. Our truth.”
