With Dogpile opening, The Anderson Council will perform in its hometown Highland Park in Middlesex County at Pino’s Wine Cellar on January 20. Singer-Songwriter Peter Horvath put this band together in 1999. Guitarist Mike Potenza, drummer Scott Jones and bassist Simon Burke make Horvath’s hook-heavy songs come to life. Besides covering Elvis Costello and The Posies on tribute albums, their own 2001 debut—Coloursound—was followed by 2006’s The Fall Parade, 2012’s Looking At The Stars, 2015’s Listening Party, 2016’s Assorted Colors, 2019’s Worlds Collide and last year’s The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon. The band will also be performing on the same day that afternoon in Asbury Park at The Berkeley Bar as part of the Jem Records “Afternoon Delight” show.
