2010 Danzig Album To Be Re-Released

Singer-Songwriter-Actor-Director-Producer Glenn Danzig, from Lodi in Bergen County, 71, was a fixture on the punk and metal scenes for years what with him founding the bands Misfits and Samhain.  He wrote songs for Roy Orbison (1987’s “Life Fades Away”) and Johnny Cash (1994’s “Thirteen”) but it was his eerily prescient vocals on his solo Danzig album in 1988, produced by Rick Rubin, with the Top 20 hit “Mother,” that fully endeared him to a generation or two.  

Sixteen years ago, Danzig put out his self-produced ninth album, Deth Red Sabaoth, with drummer Johnny Kelly and guitarist Tommy Victor backing up his vocals, compositions, guitar, bass and piano. It only reached #45 but on August 21, Cleopatra Records will re-release it. One of its songs, “On A Wicked Night,” can be digested below.
