Bergen County Couple Puts Out Sci-Fi Comic Book

Futura is the name of an alien girl from a far-away planet who rebels against her parents and travels to Earth in search of love. It is also the name of a new comic book written by singer-songwriter-producer Rexxy from Peru who has five albums under her belt of romantic heartbreak synth-pop. She lives in Bergen County with her illustrator husband, Darby Kaighin-Shields. Darby, originally from Pittsburgh, who has worked with Alica Keys, brightens the comic with his stark visuals

Futura has a cosmic console on her spaceship. She’s addicted to romantic comedies, convinced her soul mate awaits on Earth. She lands in New York City, tries to pass as human, and clumsily succeeds in making a few friends (not easy when you’re an alien). Rexxy—real name: Monica Velasquez—says an accompanying Futura album is also due.
