Get ready for the inaugural “Melting Waves” Music Fest in Asbury Park at Asbury Lanes on Fourth Avenue November 14 and 15, “a two-day music festival of psych, garage, alt and indie rock”  with headliners Wes Parker (pictured) and Trophy Wife (check video below), plus Gods, Rachel Ana Dobken, Sunshine Spazz, Sun Voyager, 95 Bulls, Certain Death, Labretta Suede & the Motel 6, The Dracu-las, Düül Suns, Slomo Sapiens, Von Mons, Cairo Jag, Söūp, The Painted Windows, Owl Doom and Judo Chop. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. Music starts at 4:45.

Promoter Joe Brown tells us, “this whole thing started as a playlist I made behind the grill at Bond Street, just trying to keep up with the songs my best friend Steve and my mentor Mike Longo kept sending me. Then bands started sending me their music, and I realized they needed somewhere to play. Melting Waves is that playlist come to life: two days, 18 bands, all in the town where it started."

Brown runs Melting Trends Entertainment, a New Jersey company that books and does promotion for bands. He worked the door at The Saint on Main in Asbury and manned the grill at The Bond Street Bar, also in Asbury. Last year, he started booking The Bond Street Block Party.
