Asbury Park’s Lightheaded Hit The Road

Pairing with their Slumberland Records label-mates Jeanines in certain cities, Asbury Park band Lightheaded has hit the open road for what they’re calling the “Slumbertour.” It started last Tuesday in Ohio, then Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. On July 19, it’s off to England before coming back to the States July 31 in Vermont. August means Canada, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky before ending it all in Brooklyn. Their Combustible Gems debut is already out. Described as a heady Power Pop combo of The Byrds, Dusty Springfield, The Feelies, the Dwight Twilley Band plus Belle & Sebastian and even Devo, Lightheaded can take their inspirations anywhere from French chanteuse music to bare-bones pop-punk.
