The Camden County FREE 2023 Summer Parks Concert Series will inhabit 2,700+ acres of total greenery at Wiggins Waterfront Park in Camden, the McLaughlin Norcross Memorial Dell at Haddon Lake Park in Haddon Heights and Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, all with nationally known acts.

The Wiggins Waterfront Park 8:00 “Sunset Jazz Series” hosts Arrested Development June 12, Celisse June 26, Sheila E July 10, the New York City Gospel Choir July 17, Pink Martini featuring China Forbes July 31, Spyro Gyra August 7 and The Urban Guerilla Orchestra August 21.

The Cooper River Park 8:00 “Twilight Concert Series” hosts the Ferko String Band June 1, the City Rhythm Orchestra June 15, Hanson June 29, Opera Philadelphia July 13, Ruben Studdard’s Luther Vandross Tribute July 20 plus Sara Spicer and Tera Lynne Fister August 10.

There will be dancing in the Dell in Haddon Heights when the 7:00 “Sundown Music Series” kicks off with Mutlu and Melissa Menago on June 7 before Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton June 21, Travel Lanes and Cloudbelly July 12, Dan McCloskey and Daphne Ellen July 26, Aimee Mann and Jonathan Coulton August 2, Calexico and Sug Daniels August 16 and Gabe Dixon with Sahara Moon August 30.

Independence Day July 4 at the Freedom Festival on the Camden Waterfront, a Fourth Of July celebration starts at 5:00 with the Tri-County Symphonic Band, Tara Hendricks at 6:00, UB40 at 8:00 and fireworks over the Delaware at 9:30.

MIKE GREENBLATT has been writing for Goldmine magazine and New Jersey's Aquarian Weekly for more than 35 years. His writing subjects fill the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He's interviewed Joe Cocker, Graham Nash, David Crosby, Carlos Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Johnny Cash, and members of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. He was 18 when he attended Woodstock in 1969.
