Christian McBride Reunites Two-Thirds of The Police

Christian McBride Big Band Without Further Ado

Montclair Jazz Legend Christian McBride has reunited vocalist Sting and guitarist Andy Summers—for the first time in 17 years—for “Murder By Numbers,” originally released as the B-side to the 1983 hit “Every Breath You Take” by The Police. The track is on Without Further Ado, by The Christian McBride Big Band, the follow-up album to McBride’s 2020 Grammy Award-winning album For Jimmy, Wes & Oliver. Other guest artists on the new CD include Jeffrey Osborne, Samara Joy, Jose James and Cecile McLorin Salvant. Dianne Reeves can be heard on a gorgeous new interpretation of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” the Carole King song that The Shirelles took to #1 in 1960, and Antoinette Henry purrs a particularly persuasive “Come Rain Or Come Shine,” originally from the 1946 Broadway musical St. Louis Woman, but popularized by Ray Charles 13 years later.
