Clifton Rocks For Free

Jersey Swamp Cats

It’s summer and the time is right for dancing in the streets. The town of Clifton will let you do exactly that FOR FREE starting Friday with Swingman and the Misfit Mutts. June 13 means The Retrocasters with sounds from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. On June 20, The Jersey Swamp Cats will enliven the proceedings with the kind of jump blues that will make you want to twist and shout. The Frostkings hit the stage June 27 with their brand of Blues and Swing, heavily influenced by Louis Jordan and T-Bone Walker. July 11 is Angel Laboy and Friends providing Salsa, Merengue and Calypso. July 18 it’s Age Against The Machine, a cover band that induces physical response to its alt-pop, indie-rock and even disco. Decadence, on July 25, is pure 1980s. And Swingman returns with his Misfit Mutts to wrap it all up on August 1. All shows start at 6:30 p.m. in Sullivan Square on the corner of Lake and Parker. Fans are advised to bring a chair and dancing shoes.
