They came out of Portland Oregon in 1994 and eleven albums later, the alt-rock darlings of The Dandy Warhols got one of their heroes—New Jersey’s own Debbie Harry of Blondie—to sing on “I Will Never Stop Loving You.” Dandy co-founder singer-songwriter-guitarist-producer Courtney Taylor-Taylor, 56, says, “Debbie’s voice elevated this song to a level that nothing else could possibly have done. Upon hearing it, I think I learned more about singers in that moment than I have learned in the last 15 years, maybe ever.” The new album, Rockmaker, came out last week also featuring Frank Black of The Pixies on a tribute of sorts to another New Jersey legend, Glenn Danzig, on “Danzig With Myself” as well as Slash of Guns N’Roses.
