The Honey won’t drip until September 8 but the follow-up to Vakili Band’s 2021 Walking Sideways starts now with the release of the Montclair band’s title track. Powerhouse vocalist Lily Vakili—who fits snugly somewhere in-between Patti Smith, Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, Grace Potter and Brittany Howard—calls the song “cathartic.” Self-produced, the album features lead guitarist Ben St. Jack, harmonica ace Joel Dorow, bassist Matt Jovalis and drummer Gordon Kuba.
