Sinatra Goes Platinum October 27

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of Frank Sinatra’s seminal Capitol recordings, Universal Music Enterprises and Frank Sinatra Enterprises have teamed up for the October 27 release of Frank Sinatra Platinum. The 44-track package—on 2-CD, 4-LP and digital formats—features remastered versions of the Hoboken singer’s greatest Capitol Classics plus rare and previously unreleased tracks.

The rarities include alternate takes, a test track, radio spots and session takes that shine a light on Sinatra’s studio brilliance. (If one violin, for instance, in an entire orchestra, was a half-second late, he could hear it!) He recorded 300+ songs for the label from ’53 to ’62. This body of work is generally considered to be the pinnacle of his career.
