It’s Free. It’s Jazz. It’s Blues. It’s Morristown.

Samantha Fish

Those who have yet to experience what it’s like to see singer-songwriter Samantha Fish, 36, are in for a treat. The Kansas City phenom rocks. Hard. Her blues is tinged with soul, Americana, funk, bluegrass and country. And to hear her for free? The annual Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival on the downtown Morristown Green is the place to be on August 16. Her Paper Doll is just out and her 2023 Death Wish Blues with Jesse Dayton is also a keeper.

Mayor Tim Dougherty started this fest in 2011. “We are excited to be back,” he says. “From vibrant jazz to soulful blues, there is something for every music lover. It’s no wonder that we attract fans from far beyond the metro area—people come from all over the country and even internationally.”
