Jack Antonoff Continues To Put His Celebrity To Good Use
Jack Antonoff is carving out a damn impressive career with his Bleachers band and as Taylor Swift’s producer. The Bergenfield native has also been active in raising funds and awareness for the plight of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender kids (LGBTQ), the homeless, and those crushed under the weight of today’s society. He founded The Ally Coalition with his sister Rachel Antonoff, and on December 17 in New York City, the 10th Annual Talent Show at the Jack H. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts will take place. Last year’s show, hosted by the Antonoff siblings, featured performances by St. Vincent, Bleachers, Jason Isbell, Bartees Strange, Clairo, Claud, Red Hearse, Andrew Dost of the Metal Bubble Trio, plus comedians Sarah Sherman, Sam Jay, Chris Larker and Jacqueline Novak. (Watch this space for a list of this year’s artists.)
The Ally Coalition will also host a Day Of Service on December 13 at The LGBT Center on West 13th Street in Manhattan bringing together local LGBTQ and medical service organizations plus clothing brands to support at-risk youth with hot meals, vaccines and HIV testing.
