The Garden State Arts Center in Holmdel will present their annual slate of free shows starting September 12 at 7:30 as “Malt Shop Memories” will ignite nostalgia with Bobby Wilson, Charlie Thomas’s Drifters, Jay Siegel’s Tokens, Vinnie Medugno, The Vogues, The Chantels, Frank Pizarro (formerly of The Platters), Vito Picone & the Elegants, The Chiclettes and Sounds of the Street. On September 17 at 1:30, “An Afternoon of Rock’n’Roll and R’n’B/Soul Music” will feature Elvis impersonator Richie Santa, Terry Johnson’s Flamingos and Russell Thompkins & The New Stylistics. On September 19, legendary DJ Cousin Brucie will host Chubby Checker, The Cowsills, The Happenings (from Paterson in Passaic County) and The Coda Band. The ABBA tribute band Arrival From Sweden will grace the stage September 24 at 1:30. And it all ends on September 26 when Brucie is back to host Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis (formerly of The Fifth Dimension), Darlene Love and The Soundtrack of Our Lives featuring Deborah Rennard and Al Sapienza. MIKE GREENBLATT has been writing for Goldmine magazine and New Jersey's Aquarian Weekly for more than 35 years. His writing subjects fill the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He's interviewed Joe Cocker, Graham Nash, David Crosby, Carlos Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Johnny Cash, and members of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. He was 18 when he attended Woodstock in 1969.

In addition to writing about music, Greenblatt has worked on publicity campaigns for The Animals, Pat Benatar, Johnny Winter, Tommy James and Richard Branson, among others. He is currently the editor of The Jersey Sound.
