Nashville Nurse Maddy O

Maddy O

Born and raised in Somerset County, singer-songwriter Maddy O graduated Bridgewater High School, went to college at Seton Hall in South Orange, got her nursing degree, and took off for Tennessee.  Of Ferns And Friends is her 5-track Deko Entertainment debut EP which contains “Memories To Ghosts” (below), as well as her “Mantis,” “The Plan,” “Cats and Dogs” and “Pete’s Song.” Her fragile indie-pop folk sound is a beautiful Joni Mitchell-inspired assemblage of melody and personalized lyrics. Besides healing people with her ministrations as a registered nurse specializing in reconstructive surgery, she also is a friend to wildlife. She’s a volunteer in rescuing, treating and caring for sick, injured, orphaned or displaced wild animals with the ultimate goal of releasing them back into their natural habitats. Plus, she’s a yoga instructor.
